YOUR FIRST VISIT

We are excited to meet you and become your sleep specialist. We want to make sure your experience at The Sleep Clinic is nothing short of excellent. Below are a few helpful tips to get you ready for your first visit with us!

INSURANCE

We accept and are in network with many of the insurances in Maryland. Below is a list of the providers we accept:

  • Medicare
  • Medicaid (Maryland)
  • Aetna commercial
  • United HealthCare
  • United HealthCare Community Plan
  • Carefirst BlueCrossBlueShield, FEP
  • UHC/GEHA
  • Johns Hopkins Priority Partners
  • Johns Hopkins Employee Health Plan
  • Johns Hopkins Family Health Plan
  • Wellpoint/Amerigroup

As a courtesy, we review each patient’s insurance policy and determine if we are in-network. We do want each patient to understand the potential out of pocket costs associated with their visit so there are no surprises.

Before the visit, it is important for the patient to communicate with their insurance provider and obtain a clear understanding of what their insurance policy covers. It is also essential for the patient to comprehend how their visit to a sleep medicine doctor will affect their deductible and coverage costs.

BEFORE YOUR APPOINTMENT

First off, thank you so much for choosing us for your sleep needs. We are a startup medical practice so there may be a few kinks we still have to straighten out – please be patient with us!

Here are some important tips to follow before your appointment to ensure a smooth and efficient visit:

  1. Verify your appointment time and date. If you need to reschedule or cancel your appointment, please notify us as soon as possible.
  2. Sign-up for the patient portal. This will allow you to complete any necessary forms and questionnaires as well as allow you to pay your bills online. It will speed up the check-in process dramatically if done before coming in!
  3. Bring your insurance information and identification.
  4. Fill out any forms/questionnaires on the patient portal.
  5. Update your medication list.
  6. Check-in for your appointment! You can do this through the portal or in the office. It’s that simple!
If you have had a sleep study in the past, please make sure to bring your report with you or have it readily available for your first visit.

If you have a PAP (positive airway pressure) device (ie. CPAP, BiPAP, ASV), please make sure to bring this with you to your first appointment as well.
